An organization recognized as a global leader in advocating collaborations between higher education institutions..

Mission:

The IEA Champions Education Collaborations and Provides Advocacy, Leadership, Networking, Technical Assistance, and Resources across all disciplines of education, promoting Innovative Research Alliances and Global Instructional Collaborations...

  • Encouraging participation of partnerships with business, industry, agency and trade associations, and bringing together diverse groups within the IEA whose interests foster the goals of member institutions.
     

  • Encouraging teacher education institutions and accrediting groups to incorporate competencies of intercultural collaboration into teacher training curricula.
     

  • Modeling research projects to recognize successful ventures into intercultural education.
     

  • Sharing with IEA members the educational activities, programs and strategies being implemented to incorporate intercultural education concepts into instructional activities.
     

  • Providing a focal point for the planning, organizing and promoting of intercultural education efforts
     

Goals of the IEA:

  1. The IEA will attract members committed to the development and promotion of intercultural education across the nation and the world.

     

    1. Each member will work actively to attract other members to the alliance.
       

    2. Benefits of membership will be developed to attract attention of potential members.
       

    3. The IEA will attract partnerships with corporations and foundations that can support IEA initiatives during the coming year.
       

    4. The IEA will develop projects that attract partnerships for the benefit of the members.
       

     

  2. The IEA will clearly position itself as a primary advocacy and resource group for intercultural education for higher education institutions.

     

    1. Members will advocate for the alliance's mission at the state, national, and international level with governmental and association groups.
       

    2. IEA members will build active partnerships with business associations, faculty associations, and student organizations.
       

    3. IEA leadership will analyze the needs of all types of members.
       

     

  3. The IEA will strive to meet the needs of its members for resources and models of successful intercultural education initiatives.

     

    1. The IEA will develop new opportunities for sharing resource materials through innovative technology applications.
       

    2. The IEA will develop, collect, and share models for researching the effectiveness of intercultural education and partner with interested researchers.
       

    3. The IEA will utilize innovative technologies to enhance the effectiveness of collaborative educational initiatives.
       

    4. The IEA will publish articles by members on topics of interest and news related to member initiatives.
       

    5. IEA leadership will help develop and maintain an active community between members, support agencies, and partners.
